Thauvin wins over Zidane, Lens striker targets French national team

Florian Thauvin shone again in the colours of RC Lens by scoring two decisive goals in the 2-1 victory over Paris FC on Saturday in Ligue 1, reigniting speculation of a return to the French national team under the direction of Zinédine Zidane, who will announce his selection on November 6.
Zidane envisions a new French squad
The striker has demonstrated the full extent of his importance within the Sang et Or squad. His double decisiveness against Paris FC confirmed his role as a key player for RC Lens.
Thauvin told Ligue 1+: “Obviously, as a competitor, my goal is to go there. After that it’s not up to me to demand it.” He stresses that his actions must be measured on the pitch.
He added: “What I do, I do on the field. I have to speak on the field, not behind a microphone. I have to give myself every chance on my side to go there.” These remarks underline his ambition to convince the coach.

Appearing on the Téléfoot set, Rio Mavuba highlighted that the Lens captain deserves to stay on the radar of the Bleus. “His goal is top‑class. He’s a player who must not be forgotten for the international level. There will be absences and perhaps he can make the list,” he said.
Zinédine Zidane, 2018 World Cup champion, did not hide his ambition to don the rooster‑embellished shirt again. He is preparing the release of his squad for the next gathering of the tricolour group.
