Tabaković's Salzburg attack machine overtakes after Hoffenheim's result
Salzburg's strike machine Tabaković, the 32‑year‑old Bosnian, had most recently found himself in a difficult situation at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim after his successful loan, but since his permanent move to Red Bull Salzburg he has already scored ten Bundesliga goals in eleven league matches and contributed five goals in the Euro league.
The loan in the previous season proved to be a complete success, which put the Hoffenheim officials in the position of deciding to sign the Bosnian in the summer. Successful spell at Borussia Mönchengladbach
Previously, the 32‑year‑old striker was the offensive safety net for Borussia Mönchengladbach. In the Bundesliga he scored an impressive thirteen goals for the Foals.
From a sporting perspective he made a permanent move to Red Bull Salzburg for around five million euros. The transfer promised him regular playing time, which had been scarce in Gladbach.
Breakthrough at Red Bull Salzburg
The 1.96‑metre tall attacking giant began with a sensational start in Salzburg. In his first eleven league matches he already found the net ten times, instantly placing him among the league’s top scorers.
In European competition, including qualification, he scored five goals in five matches. Last Thursday he provided the 1‑0 winning goal in the witch’s cauldron of Levski Sofia.
Coach Danny Röhl gives him full playing time and trusts his finishing ability. Tabaković said after the goal: “Everyone expects a striker to score goals. I try to move forward and give my best.”
By mid‑October at the latest he will have to summon this form again when AC Milan meets Salzburg in Wals‑Siezenheim. The duel in the Euro league will be an important test of his consistency.
