Switzerland: Kendouci sparks comeback with decisive video assist
In the final minutes of FC Lugano’s 4-1 win over Grasshopper Club Zurich in Suisse, Algerian international Ahmed Kendouci entered at the 81st minute and, captured on Vidéo, supplied Yanis Cimignani with the decisive passe in stoppage time, marking his first assist of the Swiss season.
Kendouci is progressively finding more minutes on the pitch for FC Lugano after his substitute appearance. The assist was his first passe of the season, helping the side seal a comfortable 4-1 victory.
A week earlier he had started against FC Vaduz, supporting the forward line. He was withdrawn at the 60th minute and received an average rating of 6.5.
Three days later he was left on the bench for the match against Dukagjini. He remained a substitute on Sunday, awaiting further opportunities.
In April 2025, while playing for Ceramica Cleopatra, the midfielder suffered a serious leg fracture against Pharco. He underwent immediate surgery and spent more than seven months away from the field.
Lugano signed Kendouci during the summer of 2025. His first Swiss campaign proved difficult, with only ten league appearances totaling 176 minutes.
Now 27, the Alg international holds 14 caps for Algeria. He must continue to perform to regain his best level and re‑establish himself with the Fennecs.
