Sunderland chase Grealish loan as Brobbey eyes new strike partner

Sunderland have opened negotiations to bring 30‑year‑old left‑winger Jack Grealish to the club on a loan with an option to buy from Manchester City, the Athletic reports, as the former €117 million Etihad signing finds himself on a dead‑end at the Citizens.

Sunderland are actively pursuing a loan deal for Jack Grealish that would include an option to purchase the player outright. Manchester City have indicated they are willing to consider both a loan arrangement and a permanent sale. The club have also been linked with former Feyenoord forward Igor Paixão earlier in the day.

The 30‑year‑old left‑winger is described as being on a dead‑end at the Citizens after his previous spell on loan at Everton. Grealish could therefore secure another temporary stay at a Premier League club this season.

Under new head coach Enzo Maresca, Grealish is not expected to play a major role in the squad. He featured only as a substitute in Manchester City’s first two official matches of the current campaign.
