Spurs step up pursuit of Ebnoutalib

Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their pursuit of 23‑year‑old Younes Ebnoutalib as Roberto De Zerbi looks to add a centre‑forward in the January window. The club’s current forwards Dominic Solanke and Omar Marmoush have struggled for consistent goals, leaving a clear need for a prolific striker.

Deal details and competition

Sky Germany Spurs are among the leading contenders to sign the German international, with Juventus also emerging as a serious option.

The 23‑year‑old has enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough campaign, establishing himself as one of the most exciting attacking talents in German football.

He has scored eight goals and provided two assists in ten appearances across all competitions this season, including six league goals and two cup goals.

His performances have earned recognition from Germany manager Jurgen Klopp, who was impressed and subsequently gave him an international opportunity.

Frankfurt have secured his services until 2031, putting them in a comfortable negotiating position.

Negotiations have reportedly stalled after behind‑the‑scenes changes at the German club.

The Bundesliga side could demand between £20 million and £30 million for the striker, a substantial profit on their initial outlay.

Tottenham may need to spend around £30 million, and the club could accelerate talks in January rather than wait for the summer.

Juventus are also considered strong contenders, meaning Spurs could face competition from the Italian giants.

Frankfurt have already discussed a salary adjustment with former sporting director Markus Kosche before his resignation.

The transfer dossier now passes to sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou, who will oversee any future discussions.

With competition increasing, Spurs may need to act decisively to secure one of Europe’s most promising young forwards.
