Spurs defender Davinson Sanchez caught in Galatasaray‑Stuttgart brawl

Former Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez was caught up in a mass brawl on Tuesday as Galatasaray faced Stuttgart in their Champions League match, which ended in a 2‑0 win for the Turkish side after the fracas erupted in the 37th minute.

The report was filed by Luke Augustus, assistant, on 3 November 2026. Galatasaray looked to launch a counter‑attack from a Stuttgart corner, with Baris Yilmaz breaking forward before his pass was intercepted and turned into a throw‑in by Chris Fuhrich at midfield.

Escalation leads to melee

Yilmaz then dropped Fuhrich to the ground in front of both dugouts after feeling pressured. Former Brighton striker Deniz Undav entered the fray, confronting Yilmaz in defence of his Stuttgart teammate. Sanchez, also a former Tottenham player, rushed onto the pitch as players from both sides joined the melee. The incident was sparked by a contest for the ball between Fuhrich and Yilmaz.

Premier League referee Chris Kavanagh later booked Yilmaz and Undav, while Fuhrich and Sanchez escaped any sanction. At full‑time Yilmaz and Sanchez were seen smiling as Galatasaray secured the three points. Aleksey Batrakov netted both goals within the opening 15 minutes, the second coming after a through‑ball from Sanchez for Gala.

The result leaves Galatasaray with two wins and two defeats from their first four league‑phase games, whereas Stuttgart suffered their first loss after two wins and a draw. Following the international break Galatasaray will host Aston Villa on 24 November, while Stuttgart travel to Inter Milan on 25 November.
