Sporting travel to France with three absences ahead of the clash with Lens

Sporting leaves this Monday heading to France to face Lens on Tuesday at 17:45, in the second matchday of the Champions League group stage, but arrives at training with three confirmed absences: Rodrigo Zalazar, Zeno Debast and Nuno Santos.

Three confirmed absences

Rui Borges announced that the squad has 25 players, but that Rodrigo Zalazar, Zeno Debast and Nuno Santos will not take part in the match. The absences were confirmed at the training session held in Alcochete. The coach has not yet disclosed the specific reasons for each absence.

Sporting's final training is scheduled for 10:00 in Alcochete. After the session, the team departs at 14:00 heading to the Bollaert‑Delelis stadium in Lens. The journey will be made by air, according to the official programme.

The clash against Lens will be played on Tuesday at 17:45 Lisbon time, and counts as the second meeting of the Champions League group stage. The encounter will take place at the Bollaert‑Delelis stadium on French soil.

The pre‑match press conference will take place at 17:30 Lisbon time, at the stadium itself. Rui Borges and a squad player will take part, outlining the meeting and answering media questions.

With the three players absent, the coach expects the rest of the group to maintain the level required to progress in the competition.
