Sporting faces Lens as Rodrigo Zalazar begins treatment

On Sunday morning, Sporting's lions arrived in Alcochete for another training session before the trip to France, where they will face Lens in the second matchday of the Champions League. The training, scheduled for 10 a.m., was the last before the game set for 5:30 p.m., Lisbon time.

Absence of two starters

Rui Borges did not have Rodrigo Zalazar and Nuno Santos at Sunday’s training. The absence of the two players was confirmed by the coaching staff.

The Uruguayan international has started the recovery plan for the muscle injury suffered against Braga. The treatment includes physiotherapy sessions and strength work to ensure a return to full performance.

The winger continues with post‑operative muscle strengthening work, still without a defined return date. The medical team maintains daily monitoring of his progress.

On Monday, Sporting has training scheduled for 10 a.m. in Alcochete, before the departure match at 2 p.m. The final training will be the last preparation for the trip to France.

Around 5:30 p.m., Lisbon time, Rui Borges and a player will conduct the pre‑match inspection at the Bollaert‑Delelis Stadium in Lens. The fixture will be the second matchday of the Champions League.

The club posted on Twitter that the Champions League campaign continues in Lens. The information was first released by Bola na Rede.
