Spain allows André Almeida to play against Valencia without a clause

André Almeida, Portuguese midfielder of 26 years, is available for the match between Racing Santander and Valencia, scheduled for October 11, despite being on loan from the Valencian club. The loan, agreed by the squad of Mestalla, does not include the so‑called fear clause, according to the Spanish press.

Non‑existent fear clause

The Spanish press says that the team of José Alberto López paid 200,000 euros to ensure that Almeida can play in all matches between Racing Santander and Valencia during the loan period, eliminating the so‑called fear clause.

The midfielder is on loan from the squad of Mestalla and has already accumulated three appearances wearing the shirt of El Sardinero, the club that represents Racing Santander in La Liga.

Almeida arrived in the Spanish top division in the 2022/23 season, after standing out at Vitória SC, the club of his native land in Portugal.

In Portugal, the rule prevents a loaned player from facing the parent team of his contract, a restriction that does not apply in Spain, allowing the Portuguese player to take part in the duel.
