Soriano challenges the Premier League after the “City case” in Copenhagen

Ferran Soriano, executive director of Manchester City, issued a challenging message to the executives of other clubs after the Premier League found City guilty on 114 of the 115 charges brought against the club, according to reports.

The official spoke today during the board meeting of the European Club Association (ECA) held in Copenhagen, ahead of Tuesday's general assembly. In his remarks, Soriano reiterated that City will face the process, which still has a long way to go, as President Khaldoon Al Mubarak had noted in a letter to fans.

The charges focus on the alleged inflation of sponsorship revenue from linked companies and on “off‑the‑books” payments to circumvent the Premier League's financial regulations.

On Friday, The Athletic reported that an independent panel had found City guilty on the vast majority of the 115 charges. The accusation has sparked controversy and has led Premier clubs to seek legal advice on possible compensation.

City, for its part, intends to appeal the decision. So far, no sanctions have been announced, which could include point deductions, expulsion from the top tier, or a hefty financial fine.
