Sommer, after Champions League errors, blunders in Belgian league

Another mess for the former Inter: after the spectacular errors in the Champions League against Aston Villa, Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer has once again disappointed Club Brugge fans in the Jupiler Pro League against Antwerp, where his mistake allowed Porozo to equalise in the 19th minute.

The errors in Champions

In the Champions League match against Aston Villa, Club Brugge were defeated 2-3. Sommer showed the worst of his repertoire, losing the long-range duel with former Parma player Zion Suzuki.

At the 11th minute Aston Villa took the lead thanks to McGinn, and Sommer, in an attempt to launch a counter, collided with a teammate leaving the ball outside the box. THE ERRORS IN CHAMPIONS were evident from the first minute. In the 19th minute Club Brugge equalised through Vetlesen, but in the 22nd minute Aston Villa retook the lead with Buendia, while Sommer failed to intervene.

The new mess in the league

In today's Jupiler Pro League, Club Brugge beat Antwerp 3-1. Brugge's goals were scored by Vetlesen (1-0), then by a second shot from Vetlesen (2-1) and finally by Virgili (3-1).

However, in the 19th minute the former Inter player made a mistake on the ball with his feet, allowing Porozo to equalise for Antwerp. The play originated when Sommer, coming out with the ball, left it free outside the area.

The contrast between the defeat in Champions and the victory in the league highlights that, despite the positive result, Sommer's errors continue to undermine Club Brugge's defensive solidity. The team will need to find a solution to prevent such mistakes from affecting upcoming matches.
