Sneijder and Ronaldinho share magical moment in Legends Cup
In a two‑minute video from Austria we see ten‑year‑old Xess Xava, son of Wesley Sneijder, together with his father score a goal in the Ronaldinho’s Legends Cup, after the Brazilian star gave a pass and Sneijder provided an assist.
A festive match in Klagenfurt
On Saturday afternoon Ronaldinho, with a self‑assembled team of friends, faced an Austria Legends XI in Austrian Klagenfurt. Wesley Sneijder was present and let his ten‑year‑old son play, the son of the former midfielder of, among others, Internazionale, Real Madrid and Ajax.
After a throw‑in the young Sneijder got the ball; in one movement he combined with Ronaldinho and his father and shot the ball into the net. The ten‑year‑old celebrated immediately with a warm hug from both the Brazilian star and his father. The match ended in a spectacular 7‑7 draw, with both teams scoring countless goals and the atmosphere remaining festive. On Monday evening Sneijder said: “I was invited for that, I still do it from time to time, I enjoy it.” He added: “It went quite well.” As long as I can, I’ll gladly do it.
He explained that they had agreed beforehand that Xess would play for five minutes. “He shoots the ball in after twenty seconds and two sprints later he said: ‘Dad, I’m going out again.’ You never forget that,” said Sneijder.
