Sky hints at swift presentation for Klopp's Germany appointment

Jürgen Klopp is on the brink of officially becoming the new head coach of Germany, with Sky Sport Germany reporting that a presentation is imminent. The German sports channel says the appointment could be confirmed within days, and the announcement will follow a contract signing.

According to Sky, the final wrinkles between the German Football Association (DFB) and Red Bull have been smoothed, leaving no obstacle to Klopp’s appointment. The German broadcaster emphasizes that all parties are now aligned, clearing the path for a formal agreement.

Two weeks ago, a principle agreement was announced between Klopp and the DFB, outlining a cooperative framework for the national team. That early understanding set the foundation for the subsequent steps toward a full contract.

Sky now Red Bull has given its definitive approval, completing the last institutional hurdle. With the Red Bull endorsement secured, the DFB can move forward without further negotiations.

A secret meeting in New York brought Oliver Mintzlaff, the Red Bull top man, and Klopp together to finalize the remaining details. The confidential discussion reportedly sealed the terms that will govern Klopp’s tenure.

If the plan proceeds as outlined, Klopp will travel to Frankfurt on Friday to sign a contract that binds him to Germany through the 2030 World Cup. The 59‑year‑old coach will then be introduced at a press conference, a presentation that Sky says will happen immediately after the signing.

Klopp will replace Julian Nagelsmann, who stepped down following a disappointing World Cup campaign. Nagelsmann’s departure opened the vacancy that the German federation has now filled with Klopp.

The former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool manager was from the outset the German federation’s dream candidate. His move also marks the end of his role at Red Bull, where he served as Head of Global Soccer, and it will be his first appointment as a national team coach.
