Sion rejects two‑digit offers and Boteli interests Atlético
The 20‑year‑old Swiss striker Winsley Boteli, under contract with FC Sion until 2030, has attracted interest from Atlético de Madrid, VfB Stuttgart and Lazio, while the Valais club has already turned down two‑digit‑million offers for the player.
Performance and contract
Boteli has scored 13 goals and provided 5 assists this season with FC Sion. His contract, signed in May 2026, runs until 2030, allowing the Swiss club to reject offers without pressure. The previous season he finished with 11 goals in all competitions, eight of them in the Super League, despite having started only two of his 34 league matches.
Born on 5 July 2006 in Geneva, Boteli came through the Servette academy. In 2022 he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he was the top scorer in the Bundesliga U‑19 in 2023‑24 with 19 goals in 19 games. He is currently a Switzerland U‑21 international and stands out as a left‑footed centre‑forward who has gone from regular substitute to starter with a goal in a year.
Interest from Atlético, Stuttgart and Lazio
Atlético de Madrid, VfB Stuttgart and Lazio are closely monitoring the young Swiss attacker. The red‑and‑white club had worked in June with young forwards such as Tresoldi, Espí and Asllani, all priced below €35 million, and completed the loan of Jonathan David on 1 September, keeping the search for a projected number nine open. Boteli, at 20 and with a contract until 2030, fits that second projection slot.
For Boteli, Stuttgart represents a return to the Bundesliga, the league where he was trained. Lazio would offer him the chance to play in Serie A. FC Sion, not in a hurry to sell, has already dismissed two‑digit‑million offers, thereby setting a clear exit price.
The upcoming winter window will be the first occasion on which any of the three clubs can exceed the figure the Swiss club has rejected. Until then, the player continues training with FC Sion under his long‑term contract.
Negotiations are expected to intensify as clubs assess their summer budgets. However, no concrete offer has been announced so far.
