Silvano Vos returns to AC Milan after year‑long absence

Silvano Vos, the 21‑year‑old midfielder, made his first match minutes since 2 March 2025 when he played half an hour for AC Milan in Saturday’s friendly against Celtic. The appearance marks his long‑awaited return to senior football after a year‑long spell on the sidelines.

Vos moved to Serie A in the summer of 2024, leaving Ajax for AC Milan for a reported fee of three million euros. The transfer was intended to give the Dutch youngster a platform in Italy’s top flight.

During his inaugural season in Italy, Vos only featured for Milan’s reserve side in Serie C and never earned an official debut with the first team. The lack of first‑team action limited his exposure at the highest level.

Six months after his arrival, a loan move to the Zwitserse club Lausanne appeared close to completion, but the deal ultimately fell through and he remained in Milan’s system. The aborted transfer kept him out of competitive matches.

The 2024‑25 campaign saw Vos miss every match because of persistent physical problems, leaving him without any playing time throughout the season. His injury woes contributed to a complete absence from the pitch.

New head coach Ruben Amorim has now handed Vos an opportunity in pre‑season, and the midfielder celebrated his return on Instagram with the caption “Back after a laaaaaange injury”. Amorim’s decision signals confidence in Vos’s recovery.

The report was posted with the timestamp “Vandaag om 13:24”, indicating the news broke on the day of the friendly. This timing underscores the immediacy of Vos’s comeback for AC Milan.
