Signature Kane record jersey fetches record price of €55,000
The record jersey signed by Harry Kane, which he wore in the 7‑0 victory over Union Berlin, was sold at the MatchWornShirt auction for a staggering €55 000 – an amount that powerfully confirms the growing hype around football jerseys. The hunt for the coveted fabrics has therefore reached a new peak.
Price explosion for the Wiesn jersey
The hype around football jerseys has become immense in recent years, and numerous shops and platforms offer both current and old shirts of the stars at sometimes horrendous prices. When the Wiesn special jersey was sold, the highest bid was already more than €10 000 a day before the auction ended, before it surged sharply in the final moments and finally ended at €55 000.
The high value of the jersey is mainly due to its special story: Harry Kane scored his 100th goal against Union in his 98th Bundesliga match, setting a new record. Before him, Dieter Müller had held the best record, needing 129 appearances to achieve it. Kane raised the milestone further by subsequently scoring his 101st Bundesliga goal against the Berlin side and then signing the worn jersey.
Collector's value and charitable purposes
The jersey comes from the Wiesn jersey of FC Bayern Munich, specially designed for the Oktoberfest, a black special kit with numerous colorful accents that was used only once in a home match. This unique look gives the piece additional collector's value that goes beyond its sporting significance.
In addition to the shirt worn and signed by Kane, other worn and signed jerseys of Bayern professionals were also auctioned, including Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise, Luis Díaz, Alphonso Davies, Min‑jae Kim, Jonathan Tah and Dayot Upamecano.
The majority of the proceeds from the auctions flow into the charitable projects of FC Bayern Hilfe e.V., making jersey collecting not only a hobby but also a contribution to charitable causes.
