Sidibé suspended as PSG under Luis Enrique prepare for Le Mans clash

Paris Saint-Germain will be without right‑back Djibril Sidibé when they host Le Mans at the Parc des Princes on Saturday 10 October, after the Ligue 1 disciplinary commission confirmed his suspension following a red‑card incident during the recent season.

Sidibé's suspension confirmed

Sidibé was sent off just 43 seconds after entering the second half for a delayed studs challenge on Esteban Le Paul, which earned him a firm suspension and an additional suspended ban.

He had previously received a warning during the 2‑1 victory over Lorient, and the suspended ban was revoked after his red card against Stade Rennes (3‑2) on 30 August, prompting the disciplinary commission to hand down the current suspension.

PSG buoyed by Marseille win

Before the three‑week international break, Paris Saint‑Germain beat Olympique de Marseille 1‑2 in the first Classico of the season, a result that lifted Luis Enrique's men to sixth place in the Ligue 1 table.

That win allowed the club to continue its climb up the standings and set a positive tone ahead of the league resumption.

After the break, PSG will return to Ligue 1 for the sixth round of fixtures, hosting Le Mans at the Parc des Princes.

Le Mans will have to cope without the experienced 34‑year‑old full‑back, a loss that could prove significant in one of the most prestigious matches of their campaign.

The absence of Sidibé may give PSG an extra edge as they restart league action following three weeks without competitive football.
