Sheffield Wednesday Barry Bannan reacts to Musaba’s deadline loan

Sheffield Wednesday Barry Bannan watches his phone buzz as Anthony Musaba’s Instagram post lights up Carrow Road, while Liam Palmer leans in from the other side of the screen. The 25‑year‑old winger has just sealed a season‑long loan to Norwich City, a deal confirmed with just over a week left in the transfer window.

Loan details and Turkish season

Musaba joins the Canaries on loan from Turkish giants Fenerbahce, having signed for the Istanbul club last January. He made 32 Super Lig appearances across Fenerbahce and Samunspor last season, contributing five goals and five assists, and scoring once for Fener as they finished second in the table.

Sheffield Wednesday legacy and fan reaction

During two campaigns at Sheffield Wednesday, Musaba logged 72 league appearances, netting ten goals and providing eleven assists, helping the Owls climb from 20th to 12th in the Championship before his departure a year ago. Former teammates quickly responded: Bannan wrote, “All best Musa, dance when you score please,” and Palmer replied, “Congrats brother.”

Musaba announced his arrival on Instagram, writing, “Proud to have arrived at Norwich City. I’m ready to give everything I have for this club, fight for our goals, and make the fans proud. New chapter. New challenge. Same hunger. Can’t wait to see you all at Carrow Road. Let’s make this season special.”

Norwich supporters are upbeat about the winger’s pace but note the absence of a permanent purchase option, leaving the club vulnerable to losing him after the season. Some fans are already speculating about a possible permanent deal next year, while others are puzzled by his choice of the number 49 shirt.

The Canaries head to Millwall on Saturday for a 12.30 pm kick‑off, eager to see Musaba add his dynamism to Philippe Clement’s promotion push.
