Sheffield United add Lucy Quinn to strengthen WSL2 push

Sheffield United have completed the signing of former Birmingham City forward Lucy Quinn on a free transfer. The 32‑year‑old striker joins the Blades after departing the Blues earlier this summer, adding a seasoned campaigner to the club’s WSL2 roster as they look to build momentum.

Sheffield United pursued Quinn for her extensive experience, highlighted by more than 150 appearances for Birmingham City and a Barclays WSL2 title last season. WSL Full-Time reported the move, noting her 34 caps and five goals for the Republic of Ireland, underscoring her pedigree.

Quinn said, “The main feeling is excitement. I’m really happy to get it done and start to focus on coming in, meeting everyone properly and getting back out on the grass.” She added that the staff’s trust made her feel welcomed and eager to contribute.

The forward becomes Sheffield United’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window, reinforcing the squad depth as the Blades prepare for the upcoming WSL2 campaign.
