Servette clinches win with dream goal, Vaduz stays without away points

On the cold Saturday evening of October 24, 2026, Servette secured a 2‑1 home victory against Vaduz in the 11th round of the Super League. Both teams each found a spectacular goal, while the guests from Liechtenstein remained without away points.

For Vaduz, the 20‑year‑old Lutfi Dalipi scored in the 77th minute to equalise 1‑1. After a throw‑in he dribbled past an opponent, combined with a header from a one‑two and shot coldly into the corner. Seven minutes later Kingstone Mutandwa from Geneva used his freedom on the edge of the penalty area and scored the 2‑1 winning goal for Servette.

Mutandwa had already hit the post in the 70th minute before scoring the winning goal. The promoted side Vaduz fought for its first away point since its return to the Super League. Despite a 75 percent possession advantage, the guests failed to convert the chance into a second goal.

Dominance in the First Half

Servette displayed offensive superiority in the first half, even though Vaduz held 75 percent possession. In the shooting statistics the team had ten attempts compared to just two from Vaduz. Captain Steve Rouiller opened the game with a strong ball recovery at midfield and set up the 1‑0.

Shortly after, Thomas Lopes, a 19‑year‑old Frenchman in his third league match, struck with a powerful shot from about 25 metres into the top corner – his first goal of the season. The goal was the result of a quick counter‑attack following Rouiller's forward run.

Servette finished the match with 27 shots, while Vaduz managed only six. The fourth win in the last five games lifted the team to fifth place in the table. After the success the side sits three points behind fourth place.

In the same SRF live broadcast, FC Zürich prevailed 2‑1 over Luzern. Meanwhile, St. Gallen appeared as the guest at Young Boys.

Outlook for the Coming Weeks

Vaduz travels next Saturday to Letzigrund, where it will play away against the Grasshoppers. Servette meets St. Gallen in eastern Switzerland on the same day.
