Servette FC chase €2.5 million strike as Fofana nears Geneva move

In Geneva, Servette FC are poised to land Ivorian striker David Datro Fofana from Chelsea, with a principle agreement already signed and a €2.5 million fee plus up to €1 million in bonuses on the table. The deal, announced as part of the winter Mercato, could be finalised by Friday after a medical in Switzerland.

Financial terms seal the move

The operation is estimated at €2.5 million, with an additional €1 million of potential bonuses tied to performance criteria. Both clubs have confirmed the figures, underscoring the financial commitment required for the transfer.

Administrative details must be resolved on Friday morning before the paperwork can be completed. The clubs indicated that once the formalities are signed, the transfer will be officially registered.

The Ivorian international could even travel to the Suisse on Friday afternoon to undergo his medical examination. A swift medical would allow the final steps of the transfer to be concluded without delay.

If everything proceeds as planned, Fofana will sign a three‑year contract with the Geneva side. The length of the deal reflects Servette’s intention to build a lasting partnership with the striker.

Le Servette FC view the signing as a major offensive reinforcement for the Grenat, adding a player accustomed to the demands of top‑level European football. The club believes the addition will boost their attacking options for the coming season.

With the final administrative and medical steps pending, all eyes remain on Friday as the transfer edges closer to completion.
