Season‑long loan gives Evann Seyram Senaya a chance at Rapperswil‑Jona
The 20‑year‑old defender Evann Seyram Junior Senaya has signed a season‑long loan with Swiss Challenge League side FC Rapperswil‑Jona for the 2026/27 campaign, moving from giants FC Basel to gain regular first‑team minutes and continue his own development in Switzerland.
FC Basel 1893 announced the loan on its official website, confirming that no purchase option has been agreed upon. The arrangement places Senaya in the second tier of Swiss football, where he will compete in the Challenge League.
Senaya is the younger brother of Ghana international defender Marvin Senaya, who currently plays for Auxerre in Ligue 1. Marvin is recovering from an injury sustained during the World Cup match against Colombia.
The 20‑year‑old is the son of a former Togo international and holds dual French‑Togolese citizenship. He is eligible to represent France, Ghana or Togo at senior level. Having moved to Switzerland in 2019, he joined FC Basel’s youth academy that year and has progressed through every training level up to the U21 side.
The loan is intended to provide Senaya with regular playing experience in men’s football and aid his continued growth within the Swiss league system. Basel wishes him a successful season at Rapperswil‑Jona.
