Scoring Malen brings Roma level with Manfredini and Totti

Donyell Malen, the Dutchman of AS Roma, opened the victory against Torino with his sixth goal of the season, giving the club its fourth win in a row. The match, marked as Update: 2 min, confirmed his place in the remarkable Roma series of Pedro Manfredini and Francesco Totti.

Malen's sixth strike and historic run

Visiting Torino, Malen, the Dutchman, found the net from an off‑side position. Five minutes before halftime the ball arrived just in front of the goal and Malen had to fully stretch to get his foot on it, after which he made it 0‑1. Goalkeeper Lucas Perri had no chance.

Against Atalanta the 27‑year‑old striker remained dry, but he had already scored five times in the duels with Fiorentina and Lecce. With this sixth goal he joins Pedro Manfredini and Francesco Totti as the only Roma players with more than five goals in the first four matches. Gasperini pulled Malen off the field within the hour, after which Marten de Roon and Devyne Rensch were brought on.

Roma's unbeaten run and upcoming challenges

The win keeps AS Roma unbeaten in Serie A for now, just like Internazionale, who later that evening play Udinese. Next week the top‑flight Roma‑Inter clash is scheduled at the Stadio Olimpico, a crucial showdown for the title race. The club continues to search for stability after the recent successes.

Como built on a convincing debut in the Champions League, after they started Thursday with a resounding win over RB Leipzig. On Monday Como won at home against Parma thanks to goals from Jacobo Ramón and Kaiki, their first in Serie A, and an injury‑time goal from José Romero. With that win Como draws level with Roma to within two points.
