Schalke close to sealing €1.3m Ebimbe deal as Frankfurt stalls

Junior Dina Ebimbe is on the verge of joining FC Schalke 04, with a reported transfer fee of €1.3 million and possible bonuses. The German club says the deal is "shortly before completion" and expects a final decision within the week.

The move follows the collapse of Jesper Lindstrøm’s transfer to Schalke, which 90min reported as failed. Schalke therefore turned its attention to a different incoming player.

Ebimbe remains under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2027, meaning the Hessian side must give its approval. Club officials are expected to issue their decision in the coming days.

The €1.3 million fee includes potential add‑ons that could raise the total. Early reports suggested Schalke had flirted with a €1 million price, while Frankfurt was said to be aiming for €2‑3 million, but the contract situation left Frankfurt at a disadvantage.

The Cameroonian winger was trained in PSG’s youth system and moved to Frankfurt in 2022 for €6.5 million. After an encouraging start, his form dipped and he spent the last season on loan at Stade Brest.

Schalke’s interest is driven by a need on the right flank, especially after Adrian Gantenbein suffered another injury. The Swiss defender was never intended to be a regular starter, leaving a gap for a right‑winger.

If the transfer goes through, Schalke will add depth to its right side while shedding a player who no longer features prominently for Frankfurt. For Ebimbe, the move offers a chance to revive his career at a club eager for his services.
