Sassuolo's €9‑10m chase for Bowie could reshape Verona's squad
Sassuolo are set to outbid Cagliari, Bologna and Celtic for Hellas Verona striker Kieron Bowie, with an asking price of €9‑10 million plus add‑ons and a decisive meeting scheduled for Tuesday to finalise the transfer and secure the forward's services for the upcoming La Serie A campaign. The 25‑year‑old Scottish forward has impressed with four goals and an assist in 14 appearances, and is eager to remain in Serie A.
Sassuolo view Bowie as a proven goal‑scorer who can immediately strengthen a striking line that has lacked depth this season. By securing him, the club hopes to improve its attacking options and stay ahead of Cagliari, Bologna and Celtic, who are also monitoring the striker.
A possible extra incentive for Sassuolo is the prospect of sending Samuele Mulattieri the other way. The 25‑year‑old centre‑forward, a product of the Inter youth academy, was sold to Sassuolo in 2023 for €5.3 million and spent last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna, and Verona have shown interest in bringing him to the Stadio Bentegodi.

Bologna and Celtic have been linked with Bowie, but his desire to stay in Italy after just six months suggests he is more likely to choose an Italian side. The Scottish international’s preference for Serie A aligns with Sassuolo’s ambition to lock down the deal.
Verona originally signed Bowie from Hibernian in January 2026 for €6 million. He made a strong impression, scoring four goals with one assist in 14 games, yet could not prevent the club’s relegation to Serie B, reinforcing his wish to remain in the top flight.
In BERGAMO, ITALY, on MARCH 22, Bowie was challenged by Sead Kolasinac of Atalanta BC during a Serie A clash, underscoring his experience against top opponents. The Tuesday meeting will determine whether Sassuolo completes the €9‑10 million deal, giving Verona a chance to acquire Mulattieri while Bowie stays in Serie A.
