Sabotage claim pits Ruben Schaken against Feyenoord Rotterdam

Ruben Schaken has launched a fierce attack on the Feyenoord Rotterdam‑bestuur, alleging open sabotage of his son Jerayno Schaken and denouncing the club’s rejection of a €1 million bid from FC Twente, while Feyenoord maintains the youngster is a prized talent with a contract through 2025.

Ruben Schaken has publicly criticised the Rotterdam‑bestuur, asserting that his son is being deliberately undermined. He characterises the treatment as clear sabotage. The accusation adds a personal dimension to the dispute.

Jerayno Schaken arrived in Rotterdam a year ago from SC Heerenveen on a free transfer, with no compensation paid to the Dutch club. The move was completed without a fee.

Last season coach Robin van Persie included Jerayno in the matchday squad on several occasions, yet the youngster never made his debut. This season his opportunities at De Kuip remain limited.

Feyenoord has turned down a €1 million offer from FC Twente for Jerayno. Ruben Schaken claims the club is demanding €10 million, describing the sum as absurd for a youth player who has not yet debuted.

According to Schaken, technical director Dévy Rigaux has refused to communicate and will only be available for a discussion on Monday. He stresses that the season is about to start and the squad must be finalised.

Feyenoord responded that Schaken’s allegations are emotionally driven and contain falsehoods. The club says Jerayno is regarded as one of its biggest talents and holds a contract for another two years, and it has sent an invitation to meet his representatives.

The club previously promised the arrival of Kirayno Schaken, also from SC Heerenveen, but that commitment was not fulfilled.

Ruben Schaken recalls a 120‑minute friendly against Rayo Vallecano in which his son was barred from playing without any explanation.
