’s front‑page blow: Giménez excluded from AC Milan plans

Santiago Giménez has been removed from AC Milan’s squad, a move highlighted on the front page of del Sport, according to the newspaper. The Mexican striker now finds himself outside coach Rúben Amorim’s plans, even if he remains in Milan this summer.

Giménez joins fellow outcasts Fikayo Tomori and Youssouf Fofana, who are also excluded from Amorim’s project, regardless of any summer stay in Milan. The trio will not be listed in the squad after the transfer window closes on 2 September.

The newspaper wrote: “Giménez, Fikayo Tomori and Youssouf Fofana are no longer part of AC Milan’s project. Even if they remain under contract after the transfer window closes (2 September), they will not be re‑included in the squad. They must train separately, without any prospect of playing time.”

Giménez is also absent from the Serie A registration list, meaning he cannot feature in the opening fixtures. He is waiting for a move to FC Porto, who have expressed interest in a loan with a €15 million option to purchase.

AC Milan is prepared to loan the striker as well, but demands a compulsory purchase clause and a €20 million fee.

The Mexican forward originally left Feyenoord in the winter of 2025 for just over €30 million.
