Running to recruit Franco Mastantuono: Tottenham fit for De Zerbi
Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be running to recruit Real Madrid winger Franco Mastantuono, a move seen as a good fit for head coach Roberto De Zerbi, according to a recent Cronica report, and they will have to outbid rivals.
Spurs would have to compete with Fulham, Juventus and Inter Milan in the race to sign the Argentine talent this off‑season.
Mastantuono’s Unimpressive Season in Spanish Football saw him manage only three goals and one assist in 35 matches for Real Madrid across all competitions.
His current contract at the Spanish club runs out in the summer of 2031, which could make it tough for Tottenham to sign him on the cheap this off‑season.
The Argentine winger is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet, can deliver decisive passes in the final third, and shoots with power from long range; he also chipped in by scoring and creating the odd goal. In a La Liga EA Sports match on May 23, 2026, Mastantuono was challenged by Adama Boiro of Athletic Club at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Primarily a right‑winger, Mastantuono can also serve as an attacking midfielder if asked by his manager.
He is expected to bring more firepower to Tottenham’s attack in the long run and has the potential to fight for a regular first‑team spot at the North London club next season, making him a decent fit for De Zerbi’s plans.
De Zerbi should focus on trying everything in his power to lure Mastantuono to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
