Rummenigge demands a clear pathway for Olise after Real rumors

Following the recent rumors involving Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge talks about Michael Olise's future. The Bayern boss emphasizes that a long‑term stay is only possible with a contract extension beyond 2029 and that the growing international demand is increasing the pressure.

Contract until 2029 and possible extension

Rummenigge told the Abendzeitung that Olise still has a contract until 2029. “At some point we will have to talk to him and make a suitable offer,” he said.

The 24‑year‑old winger is virtually indispensable for Bayern’s attack and has already attracted the interest of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Other European heavyweights are also watching his development.

Bayern CEO Jan‑Christian Dreesen admitted that it is not guaranteed to keep Olise permanently. Nevertheless, Rummenigge already regards the player as an absolute world‑class talent in his position.

“There are two top players there: him and Lamine Yamal. Olise’s game is even more mature at the moment,” the 70‑year‑old Rummenigge enthused. He stressed that Olise is among the best athletically.

Rummenigge added that he would rather see a player give his best on the pitch than speak in brief interviews. Time is still running for the record champions, but Olise’s future remains a central personnel issue.
