Romano shuts down Real Madrid rumours about Bayern’s 18‑year‑old Karl
Fabrizio Romano denies Real Madrid are eyeing Bayern Munich’s 18‑year‑old German attacker Lennart Karl, after a long transfer saga involving Michael Olise. The youngster, who has already earned three caps for Die Mannschaft, remains under contract with the German club until 2029.
Real Madrid links surface after Olise saga
Spanish media have recently linked Karl with a potential move to Real Madrid, suggesting the Spanish giants are monitoring the situation of the young German attacker. The reports emerged a few days after the protracted Olise negotiations, reigniting speculation about Bayern’s attacking options. Bayern Munich, however, have not commented on the rumours.
At just 18, Karl is regarded as one of Germany’s finest attacking talents and has already featured three times for Die Mannschaft. His performances have attracted attention beyond the Bundesliga, prompting the Spanish press to highlight his possible future in the capital. Nevertheless, the player has not indicated any immediate desire to leave Bayern Munich.
Romano clarified that there is no truth to the rumours, stating that no talks or contacts exist between Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Karl’s representatives. He stressed that while the Spanish club may admire the talent, no concrete negotiations have taken place. The transfer guru’s statement aims to put an end to the circulating speculation.
Romano added that the Real Madrid camp is pleased to learn of Karl’s ambition to play for the Whites, but the club is not actively pursuing him at present. He noted that admiration does not equate to a transfer bid. Consequently, Karl remains fully focused on his current duties at Bayern Munich.
Karl’s future remains at Bayern
Karl’s season has started slowly, with only two starts and one goal to his name so far. Despite the modest output, his contract runs until 2029, ensuring he will feature at the Allianz Arena for the foreseeable future. The Bayern side, meanwhile, have also struggled early on, lagging behind Borussia Dortmund in the opening stages of the campaign.
Real Madrid will continue to monitor Karl’s development, acknowledging they would have an advantage should a transfer chase arise. The German’s expressed desire to play at the Bernabeu keeps the club interested, even if no immediate action is taken. For now, the Bayern prodigy concentrates on improving his form and contributing to his team’s resurgence.
