Roma's Pursuit Of Summerville

Roma is in pursuit of Dutchman Summerville, with transfer market expert Matteo Moretto reconstructing the case. Roma had reached an agreement with West Ham for approximately €50 million. The English club accepted based on a verbal agreement between the club and the player, a deal that had a deadline of 1:00 AM on July 21st.

To convince both parties, Al-Hilal made a huge offer, reaching an agreement with West Ham for approximately €70-80 million, including bonuses. The player was offered a super contract.

The Dutchman, however, never said yes. During the night, D’Amico and Gasperini repeatedly called the winger, who verbally reiterated his desire to join Roma.

The journalist also reveals another behind-the-scenes story: before the Saudi club’s raid, Roma and West Ham were exchanging documents. The English club was waiting for a certified email from Summerville to confirm his desire to move to Roma, but this certified email never arrived.

Moretto's insight into the Summerville case highlights the complexities of the transfer market, with multiple clubs and parties involved.

Roma's interest in Summerville is clear, but the deal is yet to be finalized. The player's desire to join Roma is evident, but the negotiations are ongoing.
