Roma's January push forces Milan into a race for Real Madrid's Endrick
Roma's bid to sign Real Madrid striker Endrick puts Milan under pressure as the Giallorossi aim to clinch the Brazilian forward in January. Wing‑back Wesley has even messaged his Brazil teammate, saying he would be delighted to welcome him to the capital, a move that could tip the balance.
Wesley reaches out to Endrick
According to Corriere dello Sport, the contact was not arranged by the club but was a spontaneous exchange between two friends. The Roma wing‑back told Endrick how happy he would be to have him in Rome. Endrick returned the favour in June, messaging Wesley after an injury forced the Roma man out of Brazil’s camp a week before the World Cup.
Roma now lead Milan in the race for the striker, and Wesley had already courted his compatriot publicly during the club’s pre‑season camp in the United Kingdom in August. “It’s obvious that I’d really like it if he came to Roma, but it’s him who decides what’s best for his future,” he said, adding that he would be very happy to see more Brazilians at the club. Endrick later appeared for Brazil in the World Cup match against Haiti at Philadelphia Stadium on June 19, 2026.
Loan deal versus buy‑back clause
Endrick is currently on Real Madrid’s books, having logged just four minutes across La Liga and the Champions League under José Mourinho, who blocked a summer exit. Milan are interested, but Roma have done the most groundwork with both his entourage and Real. The structure of any move remains the sticking point.
Florentino Pérez will only sanction a loan, while Roma are pushing for an option to buy that includes a buy‑back clause. Both clubs are negotiating the terms ahead of the January deadline.
The two parties will meet on 14 October when Real visit the Olimpico in the Champions League, and they will reconvene when Brazil travel to Singapore in November. Those discussions will determine whether the Giallorossi can secure the Real Madrid forward before Milan.
With the January window looming, Roma’s proactive approach, highlighted by Wesley’s personal outreach, keeps them ahead in the pursuit, while Milan must accelerate their efforts if they hope to outbid the Italian capital.
