Roma’s €35 million gamble to secure Ebde Ezzalzouli for Gasperini’s attack

Roma need a right‑footed left‑back to complete Gian Piero Gasperini’s attacking blueprint, and they have identified Real Betis Sevilla winger Ebde Ezzalzouli as the target, preparing a €35 million offer plus €5 million in bonuses to secure his services as negotiations progress.

The 2001‑born left‑back logged 3,171 minutes last season for Real Betis Sevilla. He contributed 15 goals and 13 assists, showcasing his offensive potency from the flank.

Roma’s scouting has highlighted the need for a right‑footed left‑back to complement their attack. In addition to Nusa, the Giallorossi have placed Ebde high on their shortlist.

According to Matteo Moretto, Roma are ready to submit a €35 million bid with an additional €5 million in performance bonuses. Real Betis Sevilla, however, have set a €45 million asking price and the player carries a €60 million release clause.

The Roman club is reportedly prepared to meet the Spanish side’s demands and hopes to finalise the transfer in the coming days. Securing the deal would address the positional gap identified by Gasperini.

Newcastle United have also expressed interest in the winger, but Roma appear to be ahead in negotiations. The Giallorossi’s early move could lock the player before any rival bid materialises.

Completing the signing would give Roma a versatile attacker to bolster their attack ahead of the new season. For Real Betis Sevilla, the sale would satisfy the €45 million asking price and trigger the €60 million release clause, delivering a significant financial return.
