Roma intensifies chase for Tresoldi as Dovbyk exits
AS Roma are pushing to sign 21‑year‑old Nicolò Tresoldi as Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk prepares to leave the Roman side. The transfer is the only certainty in the Giallorossi’s market as they revamp their attacking options ahead of next season.
At Trigoria, manager Gian Piero Gasperini sees Tresoldi as the prime candidate to provide an alternative to Dutchman Donyell Malen. Gasperini believes the 21‑year‑old can fill the void left by the departing striker.
The Italian‑German forward matches the profile the coaching staff have identified for the Giallorossi. His physicality and versatility align with the tactical demands of the club.
Atlético Madrid are also circling the forward, reviving the rivalry that previously unfolded over Mason Greenwood. The Spanish club’s pursuit adds a competitive dimension to the transfer market.
While Robinio Vaz could be loaned out, Donyell Malen remains the sole confirmed striker for the Giallorossi. Securing Tresoldi would give Roma a versatile attacking option to complement Malen’s goal threat.
While Artem Dovbyk is set to depart, the club is prepared to proceed with the deal regardless of his exit.
For the 21‑year‑old, a move to the capital offers a platform to develop under Gasperini and replace the void left by Dovbyk. The Giallorossi’s strategy therefore hinges on adding Tresoldi to solidify their attacking line‑up.
