Roma eye Greenwood, yet 2005 wingers Sauer and Tel linger
AS Roma have signalled a clear priority on English winger Mason Greenwood, preparing an offer to Marseille, while still keeping 2005-born wingers Tel and Sauer on their radar. The club seeks to bolster the attack that currently relies on Dutch striker Malen, who has netted 14 goals in 18 Serie A matches.
Coach Gian Piero Gasperini has outlined very clear ideas for strengthening the forward line. He believes Malen needs additional support to maintain his scoring rate.
Roma will soon submit a formal bid to Olympique de Marseille for Mason Greenwood. The English winger is viewed as the primary target before the club turns to a right‑footed left winger also pursued last season.
Both Tel and Sauer, born in 2005, remain on the shortlist after Summerville’s departure. The Tottenham winger recorded four goals and two assists in 1,688 minutes, matching Feyenoord’s star who logged 1,823 minutes.
The Dodo option is losing momentum, with 28‑year‑old Molina attracting interest but the club still prefers a younger prospect. Consequently, Roma continues to scout for a more youthful alternative.
In defence, the search focuses on a replacement for Hermoso. Ostigard could join only if Ndicka departs, adding another conditional move to the transfer agenda.
The next weeks will see Roma finalise the Greenwood proposal and monitor the progress of the younger wingers as they shape the squad for the coming season.
