Roma doubles down as Al Hilal offers €80m for Summerville

Roma remain determined to sign the Oranje‑international Crysencio Summerville, even as Al Hilal have reportedly tabled an €80 million offer. Fabrizio Romano and La dello Sport say the Italian club has not given up, while The Athletic disclosed the Saudi side’s financial muscle.

Summerville has not yet made a final decision, according to the reports. The 24‑year‑old winger asked for more time before confirming his next step, keeping both parties in suspense.

Al Hilal, last season’s runner‑up in the Saudische Pro League, are said to have prepared a long‑term contract that could earn Summerville €15 million per year, La notes.

Gian Piero Gasperini, the trainer of Roma (Italië), personally phoned Summerville on Tuesday evening in an effort to sway him. The conversation has sparked a fresh round of talks between the player and the club.

Earlier this summer Roma turned down several bids, including a package from West Ham that exceeded €47 million plus bonuses. The club’s refusal underscores its belief that the player’s value exceeds the offers on the table.

A medical examination with Al Hilal is scheduled for Wednesday, but it remains unclear whether the appointment will go ahead, leaving the final outcome unresolved.

The coming hours and days will determine whether Summerville chooses the Serie A challenge with Roma or the lucrative Saudi proposition, a decision that will shape his career trajectory.
