Belgium to wear red in all three World Cup group games

🇧🇪

The Belgium national team will play all three of their FIFA World Cup group-stage matches in their red kit. FIFA published the tournament’s kit regulations on Saturday, confirming the requirement.

Belgium’s opening Group E match is against Slovakia on June 17 in Dortmund. Their second game, against Romania, follows on June 22 in Brussels. The final group-stage fixture, against Ukraine, is scheduled for June 26 in Stuttgart.

FIFA’s color rules prioritize clear team identification, preventing kit clashes. Belgium’s red shirts will be used to avoid conflicts with Slovakia’s white, Romania’s yellow, and Ukraine’s yellow.

Thibaut Courtois will wear a special captain’s armband during the group stage. The badge recognizes his 100th international cap, a milestone achieved in March.

Belgium finished second in their Euro 2024 qualifying group, securing a playoff spot via the Nations League. They face Portugal in the playoff semi-final on March 21.

Head coach TITE will lead Belgium’s World Cup preparations, with squad selection expected ahead of the June fixtures.
