Riso backs Frattesi’s revival, angry with Inter over Carlos Augusto
On Thursday 1 October 2026, agent Beppe Riso – known as Riso Frattesi’s representative – declared that the midfielder had been “sad and spent” at Inter and needed a starring role, while confirming his own fury with the club over fellow client Carlos Augusto.
Riso told reporters that he had tried on several occasions to persuade Davide Frattesi to quit Milan. The former Sassuolo midfielder had consistently rejected the idea before the summer.
Frattesi later admitted, “I loved Inter with all my heart, but I left because I wanted responsibilities that I did not have there.” He added that the move was driven by a desire for a starring role. Riso said the player had felt “sad and spent” at the club.
Frattesi’s revival at Lazio
Since joining Lazio, Frattesi has netted three goals for the Roman side and one for the national team. The midfielder’s increased involvement, Riso argued, proves the decision was right.
Riso praised the transfer on Marco Nosotti’s “Colpi da Maestro” format, saying, “The move to Lazio came because he was playing little at Inter. He is a boy with an incredible heart and huge passion. I did not see him happy, I saw him sad and spent.” He also warned that Gattuso would be watching.
Riso recalled a video call after the deal, noting that Frattesi smiled for the first time in months. He said he would pay out of his own pocket to see that smile again.
When asked to rank his agency’s transfers from first to tenth, Riso placed Carlos Augusto at tenth, stating, “I’m inc****** with Inter. But they already know.” The cryptic reply underscored his lingering anger.
