Richarlison posts solo training videos as Tottenham stumble after Villa loss, Foto reveals
Richarlison responded to Tottenham's turbulent start by posting solitary training footage on Instagram, a move that came hours after the club fell 3-2 to Aston Villa. The Brazilian striker, currently excluded from the first‑team squad by manager Roberto de Zerbi, wrote simply: “The focus remains”.
Training videos and a new speed record
In the Instagram clips, Richarlison can be seen sprinting alone on the training ground, later adding a second post that recorded a personal best of 35.4 km/h. “35.4 km/h – I broke my record”, he captioned the video, underscoring his determination despite being sidelined.
Exclusion from the squad
De Zerbi has removed Richarlison from all registered player lists, a decision confirmed by the club’s official photo release – labelled “Foto: Divulgação / Tottenham / Jogada10”. The striker has not featured since his Premier League debut, when he started in a 3-0 defeat to Brentford and left the pitch at halftime.
He also missed the League Cup loss to Liverpool, and earlier shared a screenshot of Zerbi’s statement that he would not feature in that competition, adding the question “Por quê?” followed by a crying emoji.
Transfer window disappointment
Complicating matters, Richarlison failed to secure a move in the summer window. Rumours linked him with a transfer to Vasco, but he remained in London after the window closed.
De Zerbi explained his stance, saying he had spoken with the Brazilian several times early in the season to persuade him to stay and even offered a contract extension. “If he said ‘no, thank you’, I finished my work”, the manager said, describing the situation as a matter between player and club.
Tottenham’s broader struggles
Tottenham’s start to the English league has been difficult, with five matches without a win and just two points accumulated. The Villa defeat extended this poor run, highlighting the challenges facing Zerbi’s side.
Richarlison’s Instagram activity, posted “Para” keep fans informed, offers a glimpse of his personal resolve while the club grapples with form and squad harmony.
