Reis returns to Germany, signs with Werder Bremen ahead of Nordderby
Vandaag at 20:19, 26‑year‑old midfielder Ludovit Reis announced his move from Club Brugge to Werder Bremen, marking his return to Duitsland after a single season in Belgium. The transfer follows a brief stint in the Belgian Pro League, where he featured in twelve matches.
Rivalry adds spice to Reis’s return
Werder Bremen is a traditional rival of Hamburger SV, the club where Reis spent four seasons. Their meetings are known as the Nordderby, adding a dramatic edge to his comeback.
Reis signed for Club Brugge in the summer of 2025 after completing a four‑year contract with HSV. He progressed through the youth academy of FC Groningen before moving to FC Barcelona, then spent a loan spell at VfL Osnabrück and joined Hamburg in 2021.
His Belgian spell proved difficult; he made twelve official appearances for Club Brugge last season before heading back to Germany after just one year.
“Werder is a club with a family atmosphere and the people who know me know I love that,” Reis said on the club website. “The talks with the club leadership gave me a good feeling and I am excited for my new challenge at Werder.”
The midfielder’s arrival bolsters Werder’s squad ahead of the upcoming Nordderby, offering a familiar face for the club’s supporters.
