Real Madrid secure Arda Güler's future with 2031 extension

Real Madrid move to lock down Turkish midfielder Arda Güler until 2031 as they look to cement a creative hub in midfield following the departure of several senior play‑makers. The 21‑year‑old’s vision and stability have become vital to Jose Mourinho’s plans.

The club announced on Monday that Güler, whose contract originally ran to 2029, has signed a two‑year extension taking him to 2031. It marks his first renewal since arriving from Fenerbahçe in 2023 and guarantees his services for at least another five years.

Financial terms and market value

The new deal includes a salary rise reflecting his growing importance, the report added. German database Transfermarkt lifted his market value to €100 million from €90 million after the announcement.

Under Mourinho, Güler has started five La Liga matches this season, contributing to the team’s midfield fluidity. His involvement signals the coach’s confidence in the youngster’s ability to influence games.

Last season impact

Last campaign he made 40 starts, scored six goals and delivered a team‑high 14 assists. Those figures underscored his role as a primary creator for the Spanish giants.

Real Madrid view him as essential for both present and future, according to the Madrid‑based daily AS. Mourinho praised his quality, saying: “For me, his playing quality is incredible: the vision, the decision‑making, the organization of play, the stability he gives the team, the creation.” He added that Güler possesses “fantastic potential” and influences the side beyond simple goals and assists. Having joined from Fenerbahçe in 2023, the Turkish international is now in his fourth season at the Bernabéu.
