Real Madrid near €120 million for Diomande to seal right‑wing

Real Madrid have reached an agreement in principle to sign 19‑year‑old Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig for a fee reported to be close to €120 million, aiming to fill their right‑wing vacancy ahead of the new season.

The Spanish giants identified Diomande as a target after a week of pursuit, seeing the winger as the ideal solution to their attacking needs. Ben Jacobs reported the clubs reached the agreement after only a few days of negotiations, bringing the deal close to the €120 million valuation Leipzig set this summer.

Los Blancos had previously rejected a €100 million offer for Diomande, and their latest proposal is said to be nearer the €120 million figure. Earlier in the summer the 19‑year‑old had prioritized a move to Paris Saint‑Germain, but he quickly agreed personal terms with the Bernabeu club once Real entered the bidding.

Real Madrid moved swiftly to seal the deal before the back‑to‑back European champions could make their own approach. Diomande will jet into the Spanish capital in the coming days to finalise his contract, becoming Real’s fifth signing of the summer window.

He will slot into the star‑studded attack alongside Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior and Jude Bellingham, occupying the right‑wing position. The winger will return to Spanish football one year after leaving Leganes, completing his comeback to La Liga.

In recent years Real Madrid have not shied away from spending heavily on young talents, having signed Jude Bellingham, Endrick Felipe and Franco Mastantuono. Diomande is set to become one of their most expensive signings, with the club accepting the risk of spending over €100 million on a player who has only one full season at the top of European football, a risk the club deems worthwhile.
