Real Madrid eye Olise but Bayern’s contract blocks summer move
Real Madrid are keen to strengthen an attack that already boasts Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, and the French winger Michael Olise is their most ambitious target. The club have already completed four signings this summer, and Olise is seen as the biggest possible addition, yet he has made clear he will not force a move in 2026.
Olise is viewed as the ideal player to complete the Bernabeu’s front line, offering a creative spark alongside Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Bellingham. His profile fits the club’s shift toward a more versatile, wide‑forward option in a system that relies on fluid attacking movement.
President Florentino Perez has publicly expressed his ambition to bring the French winger to the Bernabeu, and recent reports suggest Olise himself wants to join the Spanish capital. This personal desire has given Perez a boost in his pursuit, aligning the player’s aspirations with the club’s transfer agenda.
Christian Falk, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, confirmed that the 24‑year‑old does not intend to force an exit from the German side between now and the end of the summer. Bayern have a contract with Olise until 2029 and have made it clear that he is not for sale this summer.
“Michael Olise told his French national teammates that he would like to join Real Madrid at some stage, but he’s unlikely to force an exit from Bayern Munich this summer. Everyone is allowed to dream about a transfer to Real Madrid and wearing the famous white jersey. But Olise also knows that Bayern have a contract with him until 2029, and the club have made it absolutely clear that he’s not for sale this summer,” Falk said.
There have been no talks between FC Bayern and their right‑winger about a transfer at the time of writing, and neither the Frenchman nor his agent have knocked on Real Madrid’s door. However, Falk noted that talks have taken place between the two club presidents, Herbert Hainer and Florentino Perez, leaving a slim chance of a deal in late August, contingent on Bayern finding a replacement.
Real Madrid have recognised that there is currently no opportunity to sign Olise in this transfer window. While the Spanish giants are known for late‑summer deals, Bayern typically finalise business early, and the club would struggle to replace Olise without a suitable alternative. Consequently, any move is likely to hinge on a late‑summer development, if Bayern can secure a replacement.
