Real Madrid consider spending millions on Everton defender Branthwaite

Real Madrid is closely monitoring the 24‑year‑old Englishman Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton and is assessing whether a transfer of around €93 million is feasible. The young centre‑back is regarded as one of England's highest‑rated talents, but Everton is setting very high demands.

High Transfer Fee and Contract Commitment

The Royals continue to look for additional options for the defensive hub. According to TEAMtalk, Real Madrid have one of England's highest‑rated young centre‑backs in their sights, but Everton is setting very high demands. The situation is being monitored personally by Florentino Pérez.

Branthwaite's contract runs until June 2030, allowing Everton to dictate the terms. TEAMtalk estimates that an offer of roughly £80 million – about €93 million – would be required to open talks. No formal offer has been made so far.

Besides Real, Atlético Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City are also on the 24‑year‑old Englishman's radar. Jarrad Branthwaite is being watched by all the clubs mentioned. The competition increases the pressure on Everton.

Real have already overhauled the defence significantly and have signed players such as Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries and Marc Cucurella. Nevertheless, coach José Mourinho is still said to be considering the possibility of bringing in another centre‑back. The search remains active.

Branthwaite stands 1.95 metres tall, is left‑footed and can also play on the left side of the centre‑back pairing, which boosts his market value. Last season he was limited to just ten appearances due to knee problems, but he returned to the starting eleven at the start of the current campaign.

Real are therefore not close to completing the transfer. Should the club make a move, it would have to reckon with one of the highest transfer fees for a centre‑back. So far there is no information about a formal offer or any negotiations having taken place.
