RB Leipzig chase Belgian star Moreira, but €50m price looms

RB Leipzig have set their sights on the Belgian international Diego Moreira, a rising Rode Duivel, with the German top club reportedly prepared to meet Strasbourg’s asking price of around €50 million for the 22‑year‑old winger in the upcoming transfer window, signalling a major investment.

Early negotiations and wider interest

Leipzig have already opened talks with Racing Strasbourg to discuss a possible move for Moreira and have also expressed interest in his teammate Samir El Mourabet. The German side’s scouting department says the Dutch‑border club is a priority target.

According to French sources, the 22‑year‑old flank attacker is among the most important transfer objectives for the German club. De Duitse topclub has reportedly made initial contact with Strasbourg to explore the deal.

Moreira, a Belgian international, has earned four caps for the Rode Duivels and is attracting attention from other top leagues. For Moreira, interest has also come from Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma, underscoring his rising profile.

Price expectations and strategic fit

Strasbourg are said to be aiming for a transfer sum of roughly 50 million euros for the winger, a figure that would set a high bar for the German side. The Duitsers appear prepared to negotiate, but the exact amount remains to be confirmed.

Leipzig view Moreira as a potential successor to Yan Diomande, who left for Real Madrid this summer, fitting the club’s strategy of nurturing young talent with growth potential. The German outfit’s focus on youthful players makes Moreira a natural fit.

According to club officials, the first contacts between the two clubs have already been made, and the coming days could bring more clarity on the future of the Rode Duivel.
