Raskin in Premier League sight, Villa follows Red Devil on the transfer market
Nicolas Raskin stayed at Rangers FC last summer, but Aston Villa's interest in the Red Devil remains. Raskin Premier is now a topic of discussion, as the 25‑year‑old midfielder is still linked with a move to the Premier League.
Villa follows Raskin closely
According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa is among the clubs that are still closely monitoring Raskin. The English outlet reports that there was already contact from Birmingham last summer regarding a possible transfer, based on its own information. The club continues to monitor the development of the Red Devil.
The 25‑year‑old began his career at Standard before moving to Scotland. At Rangers he developed into one of the key players and also put the Red Devil on the map. His recent performances have attracted interest from various European competitions.
Turkish interest remains
Besiktas from Istanbul has seriously pursued a possible arrival. The Turkish top club tried to reach an agreement both through a loan arrangement and a permanent transfer, but an offer of around sixteen million euros was rejected. In early October TEAMtalk reported that Besiktas still has Raskin high on its wish list.
In addition to the English club, Bologna, Villarreal and other European teams have shown interest. Talks have taken place, but so far no transfer has materialised. The Turkish route does not yet appear to be definitively closed.
Raskin remains at Rangers under contract until the summer of 2028, giving the Scottish club a strong negotiating position. This long‑term commitment makes a potential summer transfer complex, but speculation about his future will continue to dominate the upcoming mercato periods.
With the summer transfer window still looming, the question remains whether a Premier League step or another top competition will become a reality for Raskin. For Raskin, a move to the Premier League would represent a new step. His decision will likely depend on both sporting ambitions and Rangers' negotiating position.
