Rapid's win lifts them in ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga as Graz stay top
On the Allianz training pitch in Hütteldorf, Lana Khalaf’s second strike – a calm finish after a pressing‑induced error – sealed a 2‑1 win for SK Rapid, delivering the club’s first ever ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga triumph and marking a historic moment for the newly promoted side.
Rapid break history with debut brace
The 20‑year‑old Khalaf opened the scoring with a 12‑yard finish after intercepting a pass from Isabell Schneiderbauer. Ten minutes later she doubled the lead, converting a defensive lapse forced by Rapid’s high press. Estonia international Katrin Kirpu’s consolation for LASK was insufficient to prevent the historic victory.
Graz and Austria Wien extend lead chase
SK Sturm Graz continued their impressive run, netting four goals away at Linz. Academy graduate Julia Keutz scored a hat‑trick, adding to her previous tally of five league goals, while Sophie Maierhofer added a 17th‑minute strike.
Austria Wien demolished Südburgenland 0‑5, with Tatjana Wiess scoring after seven minutes, Carina Wenninger on half‑time, and Almedina Sisic, Patricia Pfanner and 17‑year‑old Nina‑Katrin Pichler completing the rout.
SKN St. Pölten travelled to the capital and secured a 4‑1 victory over First Vienna. Victoria Laino’s deflected opener was followed by goals from Fanny Vago, Alma Aagaard and a second Vago strike, while Lilah Havel’s effort gave Vienna a brief scare.
After week six, SK Sturm Graz remain top of the ÖFB‑Frauen Bundesliga by a single point. Austria Wien sit third, six points adrift of Graz but with a game in‑hand. SKN St. Pölten are just one point behind the leaders, also holding a game in‑hand, while Rapid have climbed to sixth, a point clear of SCR Altach and First Vienna.
In the Golden Boot race, Brigitta Pulins of Graz leads with seven goals, while Petra Mikulica of Red Bull Salzburg continues to apply pressure, having already recorded a hat‑trick earlier in the weekend.
