Rafael Leao next club ranking: The three most likely destinations

As the last cheers fade from San Siro, AC Milan confirm that 27‑year‑old Portuguese winger Rafael Leao is up for sale, a front‑page story in Italian football as the summer transfer window opens. The former Lille forward, who joined Milan in 2019, faces a contract that runs until 2028 after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign.

Leao has grown to become one of the most influential figures at San Siro, but the 27‑year‑old is now set to bid farewell to the Rossoneri following that underwhelming season.

With his contract due to expire in 2028, the 19‑time Serie A champions are keen to cash in on their standout star this summer, and numerous European clubs have turned their attention to the Portuguese winger.

Fenerbahce have lodged an official €40 million bid and would prefer a loan with an obligation to buy, although Milan have warned that only a permanent deal will be considered. The Turkish side also tabled a €12 million contract offer while Leao trained at Corinthians’ home ground in Sao Paulo.

The Yellow Canaries have already signed Nathan Ake from Manchester City and intercepted Roma’s chase of Mason Greenwood, while manager Ismail Kartal pushes a project aimed at ending the club’s league‑title drought since 2013/14.

In Serie A, agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly offered Leao to Roma, who are still searching for a winger after missing out on Crysencio Summerville and Greenwood. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, fresh from a top‑four finish and a Champions League return, would need to meet Milan’s asking price and the player’s wage demands.

Premier League interest remains the top option, with Manchester United’s early pursuit now faded after an underwhelming 2026 World Cup showing. Aston Villa, having signed Alejandro Garnacho and still hunting a high‑profile attacker, are linked to Leao and could provide Champions League football and the financial muscle to complete a big‑money move.
