Sources told SoccerNews that De Eindhovenaren have reached an oral agreement in principle with the talented attacker. The agreement paves the way for a formal contract extension.

Technical director Earnest Stewart identified breaking Bouhamdi’s existing deal as a priority. Stewart’s task was to secure the youngster’s future with the club.

Contract extension details

Bouhamdi, a left‑winger from Sittard, was originally contracted until mid‑2028. That contract has been terminated, upgraded and lengthened by three additional years. The new terms bind him to the Philips Stadion until the summer of 2031, with only final formalities pending.

PSV regard the Limburg‑born player, who has Moroccan roots, as one of the biggest talents produced by their academy. The club sees him as a cornerstone for the coming years.

First‑team coach Peter Bosz is increasingly trusting Bouhamdi with playing time. Bosz has been giving the youngster more minutes in the senior squad.

During pre‑season preparations for the new campaign, Bouhamdi impressed enough to earn a starting place in the Johan Cruyff Shield match against AZ. He was also introduced after the break in the league opener against Fortuna Sittard.

In that opening fixture, the 18‑year‑old was brought on immediately after halftime. His appearance marked his first senior‑level involvement of the season.

Last season, Bouhamdi played a key role for PSV’s Under‑19 side both domestically and in the Youth League. He also featured for Jong PSV in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

Across all competitions he featured in 24 matches, scoring five goals and providing three assists. Those contributions highlighted his growing influence on the pitch. The club’s decision to secure his services reflects that impact.
