PSG transfer window: Parisian giant refuses to let Kvaratskhelia go

In the corridors of the Parc des Princes, the name Khvicha Kvaratskhelia echoes as a reminder that the PSG transfer market has no plans for the Georgian winger. While Arsenal is watching the player, a former Gunner says the Parisian club has no reason to let him go.

English interest and TEAMtalk analysis

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal is keeping a close eye on Kvaratskhelia’s profile, whose qualities appeal to the London club. The Georgian’s future at PSG therefore sparks interest in England, fueling transfer rumours.

Gilles Grimandi’s verdict

Asked by GOAL, the former Arsenal defender Gilles Grimandi did not hide his admiration for the Parisian number 7. “This player is exceptional. He is exceptional because he is always performing in big games and, last season, every time the competition approached its end, he got stronger and stronger,” he said. Grimandi adds that Kvaratskhelia has all the qualities needed to establish himself at a big European club, including the Gunners.

For him, the main obstacle remains PSG’s position. Contracted until June 2029, Kvaratskhelia remains a pillar of the Parisian project. “I don’t think they will do it. It’s complicated when the player is based in Paris, because they have huge wages and don’t need money,” Grimidi told GOAL.

He compares the Georgian’s situation to that of Bradley Barcola, whose departure would have been more conceivable. “Barcola wasn’t supposed to be a starter this season, so they left the door open for him. But Kvaratskhelia, they won’t let him go because they know that in the spring he will be one of the most important players,” he says.

Recent statistics for Kvaratskhelia in Ligue 1 show 2 goals and 1 assist in 10 games, with limited minutes in the Champions League. Despite these numbers, PSG retains a decisive edge thanks to the length of the contract and the player’s importance in major European fixtures.

But for the Gunners, the Kvaratskhelia case looks particularly complicated. According to Grimandi, Paris has no intention of parting with a player they consider essential for the end of the season, delivering a serious chill to Arsenal’s ambitions.
